It’s time for the 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards! Keep refreshing through the evening for up-to-date results.
After a long and exhausting 2019 Emmy season the first crop of winners are finally here! Starting at 5:00p.m. PST winners will be announced celebrating the best work of the year in genres like animation, variety, documentary, and reality television. Follow this post tonight for live updates on tonight’s winners (marked in bold) and compare them to our ADTV predictions from earlier in the week!
Although the ceremony isn’t available to stream live some of the A-List presenters include Jeff Goldblum, Wanda Sykes, Lisa Kudrow, Nick Kroll, Terry Crews, and Will Arnett.
As the evening progresses make sure to head to our official ADTV Twitter account (@awardsdailytv) for live reactions to tonight’s winners. Make sure to check back in tomorrow as the second round of Creative Arts Emmy winners are announced including key indicators in the comedy, drama, and limited series races.
UPDATE:The first round of winners are in! Free Solo swept the documentary categories winning seven awards, possibly breaking a record for the most awarded documentary. It’s even more surprising considering that the Oscar winning doc wasn’t even nominated for a top program award. Queer Eye and Saturday Night Live had big nights winning four Emmys each.
Rachel Bloom won her first Emmy for writing the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend song “Antidepressants Are So Not a Big Deal.” Seth MacFarlane won his fourth Emmy for voice-over work on Family Guy. Hannah Gadsby won for writing her Netflix special Nanette. Shockingly voters shut out Beyoncé’s highly acclaimed Netflix special Homecoming.
Overall Tally
Free Solo – 7
Queer Eye – 4
Saturday Night Live – 4
Carpool Karaoke – 3
Rupaul’s Drag Race – 3
Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown – 2
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver – 2
